Skirmish, or Paintball as it is known, is the fastest action packed adult adventure sport in the world. It is for people from all walks of life over the age of 16 years. A combination of childhood "cops and robbers", "cowboys and Indians" and "hide and seek", skirmish is much more sophisticated and certainly more challenging.
It is a sport where a SHOOTERS LICENCE IS NOT REQUIRED and women stand on an equal footing with men. Physical attributes do not create good players, but quick thinking, luck, daring and teamwork do.
Safety:
All games are supervised and controlled by fully trained, professional Games Masters. The priority for our games masters is safety, and to do that effectively there is NO compromise on rules or standards. All players must wear approved face/eye protection at all times whilst on playing fields. Again we lead the way with safety standards with the introduction of the"JT NForcer Goggle System" as standard equipment - an Australian first. As long as the goggles are worn, paintball is a very safe sport. In fact insurance statistics indicate that paintball is safer than golf, swimming, and many other popular sports.
The Games:
Each group of players is divided into two equal teams, which can vary in size from ten to fifty players per team, for which Referees are supplied. You can now play at two exciting locations, YARRAMUNDI or HELENSBURGH, a total of 19 playing fields which includes Trenches, Death Valley, Kakoda, Village, Tyres, Jungle, River Raiders, Ferns and Wilderness along with our prestigious HYPERBALL and FORT fields. Each features a different scenario or objective. One scenario is "Capture and Defend the Flag". The objective here is to capture the opposing teams flag while guarding your own within a fifteen minute time limit. Whilst trying to capture your opposition's flag, you eliminate your opposing players by marking them with a paintball, expelled from a specially designed paintball gun using a carbon dioxide charge.
What is a Paintball:
A paintball is a round, thin skinned, dye-filled gelatin capsule. Paintballs are very similar to a large capsule or bath oil bead. The paintball is filled with non-toxic, water soluble, non-caustic, bio-degradable vegetable dye that comes in a wide variety of colours. When a paintball hits a player, the thin gelatin skin breaks open and the liquid inside leaves a "splat mark" on the player's clothes signifying his or her "elimination".
